Tips for a Successful Music Festival & Event Application
When applying to perform at music festivals or events, it\u2019s important to thoroughly read and understand the application instructions and guidelines to increase your chances of being selected. Certain events may only accept submissions from artists of specific styles or genres, so confirm that your act aligns with these requirements before submitting.
Read the Guidelines Carefully
Thoroughly read and understand the application instructions before submitting. Missing a required field or document is the most common reason applications get rejected.
Match the Genre
Certain events only accept submissions from artists of specific styles or genres. Confirm that your act aligns with the event’s requirements before you apply.
Apply Early
Festival slots fill fast. Submitting well before the deadline gives organisers time to review your material and shows you’re serious and organised.
Polish Your Press Kit
Include your best tracks, a short bio, high-quality photos, live performance video, and links to your socials. Make it effortless for a booker to say yes.
Follow Up Professionally
A brief, polite follow-up after a reasonable period is fine. Avoid repeated messages — respect the organiser’s review timeline.
Keep Your Materials Updated
Refresh your tracks, stats and photos regularly so that every application you submit reflects your current best work.
