‘Honest’ is the second video released from Stockholm-based songwriter and performer Madeleine Grace. The track combines classic soul, hip hop and rock and shows a broader and more personal sound compared to previous releases.
- The most important thing you can give to yourself is not to give up when something you are experiencing hurts the most. The payoff won’t come at once. That's what I want to convey with the video for Honest. I want to show another side of pain that can also be incredibly beautiful. Or at least show how I tackle things in life and with that inspire others, Madeleine Grace explains about the underlying meaning of the video.
After several years as a singer in Oslo-based Two Years, she premiered as solo artist in late 2017 with laid back ballad "Sail Away." Madeleine Grace was born and partly raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Inspiration came early from TLC, Lil’ Kim, Janet Jackson, Destiny's Child and Jennifer Lopez, as well as Congolese artists such as Koffi Olomodì and Papa Wemba. "Honest" is produced by Noach Shariff and is out now.
